<\/a><\/p>\nAs I was looking at the meme, it dawned on me – Everyone Is Crazy\u2026in a good way…actually in the best way possible.\u00a0 All you have to do is admit it.\u00a0 Admission of crazy helps eliminate the crap.\u00a0 Eliminates the caveats.\u00a0 It would be “Love Trumps Hate”.\u00a0 Not the current \u201cLove Trumps Hate, so start loving my views or I will boycott everyone and everything you ever cared about.\u201d\u00a0 It would be “All Lives Matter”.\u00a0 Not the current \u201cAll Lives Matter, except refugees heading my direction, death row inmates, and basically everyone with an opposing view that I don’t need to make my Starbucks”.\u00a0 In a nutshell, it helps people practice what they preach.<\/p>\n
Crazy does all this by allowing you to take that all-important step back.\u00a0 You look before you leap.\u00a0 You see above the fray.\u00a0 You say nothing at all if you can\u2019t say something nice.\u00a0 Crazy makes it easier to see both sides of every story, no matter how unpleasant it may seem.\u00a0 Crazy allows you to understand it\u2019s alright to disagree.\u00a0 It\u2019s fine if there isn\u2019t one universal right answer to every question.\u00a0 There\u2019s Sweet AND Savory.\u00a0 There\u2019s Coffee AND Tea.\u00a0 There\u2019s Country AND Western.<\/p>\n
Trouble only rears its ugly head when people think they\u2019re not crazy (see Politicians, The Media, Religious Literalists, Actors, etc.).\u00a0 Common Sense goes right out the window.\u00a0 Self-Importance rises to unimaginable heights.\u00a0 The laws of physics themself seem to break down.\u00a0 When opposing groups of crazy deniers meet, cooler heads rarely prevail.\u00a0 As sophisticated as everyone thinks they are, these battles at best turn into good \u2018ol fashioned school yard name calling contests.\u00a0 They\u2019ll call each other Commies.\u00a0 They\u2019ll call each other Elitists.\u00a0 They\u2019ll call you Crazy.\u00a0 So beat them to the punch.\u00a0 Admit you\u2019re crazy and diffuse the whole situation.<\/p>\n
Rumors are out there Lady Gaga is going to politicize her Super Bowl performance tonight.\u00a0 Boy I hope she doesn\u2019t, and it\u2019s not because I don\u2019t like her.\u00a0 She’s a great performer.\u00a0 A great singer-songwriter.\u00a0 One of the best voices in the world.\u00a0 I hope she doesn\u2019t because it is a classic no-win situation.\u00a0 Even if she just gets up there and passionately exclaims \u201cwater is wet\u201d, the Dry Water Coalition will immediately start boycotting every Wet \u2018n Wild in North America.\u00a0 The People For A Dryer Tomorrow will flood (pun intended) the airwaves with an endless, mindless stream of impassioned soliloquies.<\/p>\n
Denying her craziness will all but guarantee that her stance, whatever it is, will fail to start a civil dialogue or anything else productive, no matter what the spin doctors say.\u00a0 It will more than likely continue the pissing contests which are more popular than Beer Yoga and Beer Church.\u00a0 It will give over a billion people an excuse to add the word Uppity to the front of her stage name.\u00a0 No one wants that.<\/p>\n
Lady Gaga, please don\u2019t upstage the commercials.\u00a0 Please don\u2019t upstage the game.\u00a0 Take your cue from Pink Floyd\u2019s 1979 album \u201cThe Wall\u201d.\u00a0 When did Pink tear down the metaphorical wall that closed him off from the realities of the world for decades?\u00a0 Not even 5 minutes after he realized he was \u201cover the rainbow\u201d crazy.\u00a0 The truth set him free and he lived happily ever after.\u00a0 Or the judge with his face on his butt ate him.\u00a0 Actually, the ending is not so clear after the wall comes down.<\/p>\n
Most importantly, don\u2019t go through with it if for no other reason than tonight I\u2019m going to have an ungodly amount of chips, dips, meats on sticks, and Natty Light in me.\u00a0 As soon as you get on your high horse, the fully clawed, feral cats already in my stomach will start their royal rumble.\u00a0 The results won\u2019t be pretty.<\/p>\n
You\u2019re better than that. You\u2019re something crazy.<\/p>\n
